Now on to the plot. Yes, that's right, I said P-L-O-T! And it is actually a well thought out and well delivered one to boot. The film revolves around three couples. The first couple, Dan(Paul Thomas) and Jane(Honey Wilder), are married and have an extremely boring sex life as you will quickly find out. The second couple, Ted(Joey Silvera) and Leslie(Annette Heinz), are married as well, but have a pretty intense sex life. And the third couple, Joe(Jerry Butler) and Mary(Brooke Fields), are dating and don't seem to be on the same page sexually. You will see what I mean as we get deeper into the film.
As the movie opens you are introduced to the three main couples I mentioned earlier. This scene is actually three scenes combined as the director switches through each couple multiple times. The actors really sell the sexual relationship of each couple which I feel pulls you into this movie almost immediately and sets the stage for the main portion of the movie depicted in the title, The Sex Spa.
After each couple finishes having sex, or in the case of Joe and Mary who are interrupted, they each have a talk about going to the Sex Spa. You have Dan and Jane who are looking to spice up their sex life. You have Ted and Leslie who are so in love with each other they want to use the Spa as a test. And then you have Joe and Mary, well really just Joe who wants to go because he appears to be horny all the time, so Mary agrees. All three couples are off to the Sex Spa which leads us into our next scene.
As the couples are arriving you are treated to a live sex show that takes place center stage on a sex chair. This scene features George(George Payne) and Silver Star. The sex is really driven by Silver Star and ends with her between George's legs taking a cumshot on her tongue. Without missing a beat the MC of the night takes the stage. But this isn't just any MC it is F.J. Lincoln the Hall of Fame porn director. He does a great job of getting the party kicked off, but before he is done he lets everyone know that they are having a one night only contest. They are looking for the hottest couple of the night and they do have a specially appointed judge which as he says, "Big Brother is watching, if he's not too busy jerking off."
After the announcement most of the background cast scatters off with the three main couples of the film being a little timid and still sitting at the bar. You are then taken to one of the many rooms available in which an average girl on girl scene featuring Sandy(Taija Ray) and Candy(Danielle) is taking place. This scene ends up almost being a little uncomfortable due to the many pillows they are trying to have sex on. This scene is important because it features Sandy. She is married and is using her divorced brother Sam(David Scott) as her alibi for the night so she can get her sexual desires met. Joe and Mary make an appearance during the scene to watch at the door. As you might guess this gets Joe's engine revved up again.
We next move to another room where you see Daddy(Bobby Astyr) and Sex Spa worker Rene Summers playing the part of Daddy's little girl in a very weird scene. Apparently Daddy is teaching his little girl about men. There is no sex in this scene, but their is a blowjob and a handjob that ends in a cumshot on the little girls tits. Dan and Jane make an appearance during this scene watching at the doorway. This scene doesn't get me going, but I do appreciate the writers of the film trying to show a fetish.
Our next scene takes place at a very large jacuzzi. Ted and Leslie come up on a couple starring Cassandra Leigh and Klaus Multia. One of my favorite parts is that Cassandra is giving Klaus a blowjob on the steps of the pool when she looks up and says, "Hi." I mean what else would you do in that situation? Ted and Leslie then disrobe and get in the jacuzzi. They find themselves unable to turn away as they watch the other couple have sex right in front of them. In this obtrusive scene you are taken to the apartment of George and Rene. George of course being the stage sex performer and Rene who played the role of daddy's little girl. George is conflicted and feels dirty because he came in that womans mouth for the entire crowd. This causes Rene to suggest a bath which is where the non sex takes place. George is treated to bathing, handjob, blowjob, and a rimjob in the bath before he cums on Rene's tits. All in all this scene is well done, but it is a little aggravating that it was sandwiched in between the group scene with the main couples.
Finally we are taken back to the mat room where the real fucking is taking place. I'll admit this scene is really fucking hot. Seeing the exceptional Honey Wilder get fucked from behind while sucking another mans dick is enough to make me lose control. Not to mention what she says while it's taking place. Then you add Annete Heinz getting fucked extremely hard by another man and you have the makings of what I believe to be the hottest scene in this movie. I would assume if their was an award of the night going to groups this one would have surely been the winner.
Mary leaves after this and makes her way to the main pool where she finds a spot off to the side where she can watch everyone. All of the extras are in the pool playing and having a great time. They are clearly attracted to each other and eventually begin touching each other. This leads to the most intense couples scene of the movie. I love how each scene elevates throughout the movie with the exception of the misplaced scene between George and Rene. The acting is spot on and is completely believable. At times you can almost forget that you are watching a porn. The music is definitely early 80's music which for me adds to the nostalgia of the movie. The director manages to capture the feel of the moment through nice angled shots and allowing the cast to really sell themselves and the sex.
